The drawings below I made during a research stay in Florence, made possible by 'het Philologisch Studiefonds', a fund for starting teachers or researchers in the field of classics. During this stay I did an artistical research to how renaissance thinking and art influenced our current view of 'the classical'. The series below I drew on site and depict some places and moments that either illustrate my experience of the classical in Florence, or depict some common but important moments of daily life.
